We honestly can’t predict her style choices or even offer up an overview of her preferences – and we’ve been covering her a fair amount over the years. We used to think she was the type who wasn’t really into fashion and only did fashiony things when her job called for it, but this isn’t exactly the kind of frock a reluctant person gets talked into unless she’s a real pushover. And she doesn’t strike us as that. No, she’s wearing this gigantic Christmas present because she wanted to. Bless her heart. It’s just an awful choice for the venue. A side cutout and a very short skirt means she never once sits in a manner that looks comfortable or relaxed. Add that ridiculously distracting thing on her neck and it starts getting harder and harder to pay attention to her or anything she’s saying.

On the other hand, there’s a school of styling thought that if you get the audience member at home to look up and mutter “What the hell is she wearing?” you’ve done your job.
