Our bitchy, jaded old eyes have seen way too much yellow neon in the last month. So much so that we can’t seem to get a handle on this one at all.
The purple makes a nice counter to the yellow and the design is appealingly simple and basic, which allows the quite aggressive print to have space to shine. The black trim seems to elevate the formalness of the look a little and coordinates well with the shoes. But we really don’t think that yellow’s working for us anymore. And the shoes, while fab, seem a bit heavy. Also: we didn’t need those embellishments on the sash and neckline. They just distract.
It comes down to this: We don’t hate this look, but for something as bold and declarative in tone, it leaves us a little flat, for some reason. Is this working for you?
