Okay, let’s talk about Steffi’s look. We gave her the nicey-nice treatment this morning, but she’s in the judging circle now, so the floor is open. Please put on your judging robes and only speak while holding the Judging Stick.

Swear to God, we spent five minutes last night frantically Googling to see if she’d broken her arm or something. Talking to Seacrest, her whole arm was totally obscured, and the twitters being what they are, we didn’t want to get dragged for making a crack about her dress if she just fell off the stage in Vegas or something. No, really.

That aside, we don’t have a strong opinion either way on this one. We love the relaxed hair and REALLY wish she’d wear it this way more often. The drag queen hair isn’t working like it once did. Rocker Chick hair not only does a great job of representing this part of her career, but it also just looks fantastic on her. We’d love to see it in exactly this style, but in her natural dark color. Steffi, you’ve done so much Great Women of History cosplay. Do Joan Jett next.

Anyway, the dress: It’s okay. Aside from the annoying arm-camouflage, it’s a fairly standard Hollywood Glam kind of look, which also tends to suit this period in her life. Looking at the runway shot, we’re thinking the shorter length works better for the design. We don’t blame her for wanting a more grandiose formality for the night.

We now pass the Judging Stick.
