Good news, Julia! We really hated this outfit on sight, but the more we look at it today, the more we realize that we only mildly dislike it! Hooray for you!
Mmm. Maybe not so mildly after all. We never could get behind the many attempts over the years to wed gowns to pants. It’s never truly worked in our opinion, Auntie Mame notwithstanding. And this particular attempt, melding a pair of tuxedo pants with a particularly floaty style of gown, strikes us trying a bit too hard to be witty about something that hasn’t been all that witty in fashion for a long time. Yes, we’re overthinking it but counterpoint: that’s our job. Having said all that, The pants look great on her and if you remove the back skirt, burn the belt in a ritual fire, and pretend the top half is silver, we can kind of see the possibilities here.
Haha. No, not really. This is awful, lady. We’re trying to be nice, but you seriously got McCartney’d on this one.
