Attention must be paid, darlings. As we noted, the Chadwick Effect has yielded some exciting results in the world of menswear red carpetry in the past year, which means this Golden Globes had a highly unusual number of extremely interest formal menswear looks. It’s rare for us to give so many men the spotlight the day after an awards show (with more in the pipeline), but these boys really stepped up their game and as we said, attention must be paid. Call it positive reinforcement. If we gush over all of these cherry blossom tuxes and sparkly loafers, we may convince more boystars to put a little effort in and stop dressing like accountants.

And of all the fabulous formal menswear looks of the night, this was easily our favorite. Chadwick came close, but ultimately the whimsy and queerness won us over.
