There’s so much about this look that neatly answers a lot of our complaints about her promo style lately. There’s a richness in color and contrast that looks amazing on her. There’s a sweep and drama to the silhouette that gives her a grandeur she should work more often. But there’s one really irritating detail about it that is making it hard for us to like it.
The blocking of sheers and solids is so unflattering on her, to our eyes. Ironically, it tends to mimic her preference for side cutouts, one of the things she desperately needs to get away from. We like the idea of the studded trim on the seams; the way it combines with the textile to give that hard/soft thing that she seems to like in her fashion. But we think it’s a bit wildly overdone. We don’t know, you guys. We’re pretty firm in our dislike of this look, but we’re starting to wonder if we just can’t get a handle on her style. You tell us:
