Because there ain’t no way a mere mortal without the benefit of magic fashion powers would ever be able to wear this without looking silly.

We can’t say this quite works, but she’s giving it her all. We think our main point of contention is the fit of the pants. All the credit to her for rocking the menswear in her inimitable androgyne style, but boypants aren’t cut like girlpants for obvious reasons. When you add a dropped crotch to the equation, what were designed to be dandy pants instead look like pop-pop pants.

Our second point of contention is that the two fabrics look like office upholstery; like something you’d see in a conference room. And it makes us a little sad to see her wearing a nude, suede shoe. But she presents a total look, we’ll give her that. There’s nothing half-assed about it. And it suits her perfectly. Like most Tilda ensembles, it’s head-turning in a “I’ve got to get a better look at this” way.

Bottom line? It’s Tilda.
