In or Out: Kim Cattrall at the GLAAD Media Awards

Kim Cattrall attended the 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco in a little black dress paired with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. She was honored with the Golden Gate Award, which is presented to media professionals who have increased the visibility and understanding of the LGBT community.

“Kim Cattrall has not only grown acceptance of our community through storylines on shows like Sex and the City, but used her platform to speak out for equality,” said GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios. “We are proud to honor such a talented and passionate advocate.”

Does anyone else cringe when “grow” is used as an active verb? Anyway, well done, Kim. We love you. We don’t love your look, however; not entirely. Please forgive us.

Oh, Samantha. We so wanted to love you in this. Since it’s Monday morning, let’s ease into our bitchery slowly by starting off with the good points. Everything from the waist up looks great: the bodice fits and flatters (although it’s a bit thick and stiff-looking), the necklace is gorgeous and the hair and makeup look great (but we think the whole look could have been helped with a slightly more dramatic face because a gal should get her drag on when the gays are honoring her). Now let’s work our way down. The skirt fits, but the length doesn’t flatter and we tend not to like lace edges because it looks too literally like lingerie. And finally, her shoes look like Christmas craft projects and turn the whole look – which could have been classic and sexy – into something that looks a little cheap. Hem that skirt, put on a contrasting belt and a pair of shoes that don’t look homemade and this one could have been a winner.
