We have embraced a lot of colors in formalwear over the years, but we draw the line at mauve dinner jackets.

The bust is painfully tight and looks overdesigned.

Cute, but strangely businesslike.
Kate Beckinsale in Georges Chakra Couture
God bless and protect this bouffant’d diva. She never fails to bring it. And by “it,” we mean “the loudest, most outrageous look of the night.”
Keke Palmer in Saint Laurent
Keke. tell your boobs to stop looking at us like that.
Laverne Cox in Archival Saint Laurent
There’s way too much going on in that print, but the colors look great on her and her makeup is gorgeous. The fuzzy hem is awful.
Maria Bakalova in Idan Cohen
It’s pretty, but the bodice looks stiff and encrusted.
Melissa McCarthy (in Fjolla Haxhismajli) and Ben Falcone
That might be one of the best dresses she’s worn in a long time. The color looks great on her. His sneakers are irritating, but then again, it’s not like this is the Vanity Fair party.
Nathalie Emmanuel in Akris
The bust is interesting, but we hate reversible sequins. Always looks tacky to us.
Patricia Arquette
It’s very Grande Dame. The colors are interesting, but we think they’d look better on a Black woman, to be honest. Her hair is a mess and the exposed cami makes the look come off sloppy.

Can’t argue with that, although the shoulderpads are a but much.
Sheryl Lee Ralph in Eman AlAjlan
We don’t think you can solve the challenges that come with a sheer skirt by giving it a tongue.
Tiffany Haddish in Tony Ward Couture
It’s a great dress but the sandal should be silver.
