Some of the cast members of the upcoming Dune: Part 3 — but quite notably, not the suddenly publicity shy Timothee Chalamet — got together for a little sit-down event marking the release of the trailer.

Do we think it’s a little silly that they now have press events surrounding the release of trailers? Yes. Are you going to hear us complain about the entertainment industry finding yet another way to put stars in little outfits in front of cameras? Not on your life. It’s actually a bit of a relief.

After the pandemic and the strikes, there was a lot of talk about how the red carpet was totally over, but we never believed a word of it. Hollywood has been in the business of promoting itself loudly and fabulously for over a century and nothing is ever going to stop that promo train from running, even if it has to switch tracks now and then. These sit-downs don’t allow for the best views for assessing outfits, but we’ll do our bitchy best.

PinRobert Pattinson, Anya Taylor-Joy, Javier Bardem, Zendaya, and Denis Villeneuve

They’re all fine, but clearly the two actresses are making more of an effort. Rob is fine. Javier is fine. As for the ladies, they too are fine. We think Anya’s look is quite chic, although the top’s not all that great for sitting down and we think the bow isn’t needed. Zendaya is sporting a ton of leather, but the girl can make it look effortless. Anya looks chic, but Zendaya looks kickass. It’ll be interesting watching these two fashion queens battle it out on the promo tour.
