There seems to be a rash of poor sit-down dresses showing up on our TV talk show screens of late. Back in our earliest days of bitchy blogging, a poor choice of talk show dress usually meant we were talking about something too short for the wearer to sit comfortably, but these days it tends to mean the kinds of tricky or grandiose designs that look much better standing. Avatar: Fire and Ash star Zoe Saldaña sported just such a gown for her Jimmy Kimmel Live! visit, but honestly, our main problem here is with the shoe situation:

The dress is gorgeously simple when she’s standing, a pile of rags when she’s seated. The shoes look utterly ridiculous with it. Everything about that dress says breezy, sexy, simple, while the shoes say “I have to walk very carefully in these dangerous fucking things.”
