Queen Max stepped out in a look that she got mostly right, but we’re gonna nitpick it to death anyway because that’s just the sort of people we are. The queen put on her purple fedora and headed to Rotterdam to celebrate the opening of SAWA, the environmentally friendly, all wooden residence building in Rotterdam.
Personally, we don’t think red and purple coordinate all that well unless they’re used somewhat sparingly with each other. But that’s a taste thing, not some sort of fashion rule. We don’t love the combo here but we wouldn’t ding her for getting it wrong. The red looks lovely on her and that high neckline works well for her. If we had a magic wand, we’d change the purple to oxblood, make that belt about half as thin as it is, and moved the brooch over toward the shoulder. It looks odd where she’s wearing it.
