Yellowface star Daniel Dae Kim made history as the first Asian man to be nominated for a Tony Award as Best Lead Actor in a Play, and while he didn’t get to make history with a win, he did get to come to the Tonys in a gorgeous custom hanbok, reinterpreted for the red carpet.
And we thank him for that, because it’s one of those rare red carpet instances where bitchy fashion commentary from us just doesn’t apply. He looks great (he always does, of course), and we love that he took the occasion of this historic moment to express its significance in his style.
