Widely varying levels of effort were on display at the premiere of The Life of Chuck, which is probably to be expected when you have Tom Hiddleston, Karen Gillan, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mark Hamill in your cast.

We’ll just do this all in one go. First, Tom is the best-dressed here, by far. He’s always been a fine dresser, so that’s not exactly a surprise. It’s nice to see a formal summer suit styled so well. Love the tie and shirt. Karen’s phoning it in and we would have advised her not to do that. She hasn’t been on a major red carpet premiere since her Guardian of the Galaxy days and we would have thought she’d want to make more of a splash here. The dress is fine and we wouldn’t argue that she looks bad, but it’s pretty basic and low-effort. Chiwetel looks just okay. The jacket’s nice, but everything else is so darkly generic. Mark is Mark. We don’t approve of wearing film-branded t-shirts to a premiere, but at least the rest of the look is nice.
