Any day when Queen Máxima gets to wear a bold skirt and a tiara is a good day for Queen Máxima. The Dutch royals stepped out for a day outing before heading back to Amsterdam for a formal dinner.

It’s a gorgeous skirt and it makes a fantastic starting point for an outfit. Unfortunately, she has a nearly obsessive need to try and match colors that are infamously difficult to match, so she opted to try and pull out the pinks in the skirt, but none of the pink items she chose match each other and some of them are downright clashy. The top works, but the hat and earrings look bad with it. She’d have been better pulling the aubergines and blues out of the skirt.

Okay, we’re just gonna rip the Band-Aid off here: it’s an ugly dress. The beige doesn’t flatter her coloring and the embellishments look craftsy  and are badly placed. That starburst effect is terrible. We can’t say we’re in love with this tiara, but it seems odd to pair pearls with beige. It just makes the beige look dingy.
