Cannes Film Festival 2025: Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga at the Kering ‘Women in Motion’ Talk Event

Nicole Kidman was the honoree at this year’s Kering “Women in Motion” Gala at Cannes, and with the award apparently comes the obligation to sit down for a talk event – not that we mind seeing her get the recognition. She actually had some very interesting things to say about working with female directors and why she doesn’t want to move into that area herself as an actress. On a shallower level, she also made some rather interesting style choices for this event.

That’s… definitely not an outfit that would cause Nicole Kidman’s name to come to mind if we saw it on a runway or rack. We don’t love the jeans. As we’ve said, if you’re turning to Balenciaga for your jeans, you’re misunderstanding jeans and Balenciaga. It’s like going to Tiffany & Co. for kitchenware. The pieces might be quality, but their business doesn’t rely on them understanding the appeal or the needs of that market. They only need to stamp their name on it. Still, this is kind of a fun turn for her and we’d like to suggest to her stylist Jason Bolden that this sort of look would be perfect for any of the country music awards shows she goes to.
