Part One is HERE! Get on this judgy train! We’re putting the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet to bed, good and judged.
Adrien Brody in Thom Browne
It’s not as adventurous as we’d like, but it looks impeccable on him. We’d love to see three-piece suits get trendy again. The brooch is weird.
Allison Janney in Christian Siriano
Flawless. No notes. The necklace over the collar works this time.
Amy Adams in Dolce & Gabbana
A White House Correspondents Dinner dress if ever we saw one.
Anya Taylor-Joy in Archival Dior
It’s giving Gwyneth, but we don’t think the color flatters her and we hate the fringed wrap.
Auli’i Cravalho in House of Gilles
Meh. The only interesting thing about the look is also the worst part of the design.
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor
We are so irritated by the mismatched pants. With outfits like these, you absolutely have to get the details right.
Ayo Edebiri in Loewe
This is kind of adorable, but the tie is weird and the oversized shoes are a little goofy.
Cate Blanchett in Louis Vuitton
She wore this to the Cannes Film Festival last summer. We loved it then, but noted that the yoke looked heavy to us. In apparent (to us, in our delusional minds) response, she had it reworked and beaded for this rewear. It still looks stiff and heavy to us, but we like the change.
Felicity Jones in Prada
That’s both gorgeous and weird. She’s not really working it, so we tend to feel it would be better off on a wearer who loves it. It could use a sense of playfulness.
Hannah Einbinder in Louis Vuitton
Come on. It just looks like a sling. Way to ruin a pretty gown.
Isabella Rossellini in Dolce & Gabbana
Zia Isabella has been SLAYING lately and we have to begrudgingly admit that D&G consistently do right by her. She’s a better match to their Italian widow aesthetic than Helen Mirren ever was.
Kali Reis in Jovana Louis
This is fabulous and we love the shape of it. The cuffs are proportionally too large and the sleeves could use a slight hem.
Kate Hudson in Carolina Herrera
This is very pretty and elegant, but it doesn’t take the most dazzling picture. Still, you won’t hear us complain when a star goes for sophistication over attention-seeking. That’s a lie, but it’s a nice one in service to the fact that we like this. The necklace is really well chosen.
Kathryn Hahn in Altuzarra
This was a pleasant surprise to us. It’s rare to see a contrasting top and skirt at a formal red carpet event. We might have liked a little something to glam it up a bit, but this is a great look for her. Boho Witchy is her style sweet spot.
Kathy Bates in Giorgio Armani
The jacket’s great. We totally support her if she wants to wear comfy shoes, but for this kind of outfit, there are better choices.
Keira Knightley in Chanel
HATE those feathers.
Keri Russell in Stéphane Rolland Couture
Stiff, heavy, overwhelming, but kind of interesting and totally suited to her.
Kristen Bell in Ashi Studio Couture
We’re not convinced the Champagne color is the best choice for her, but this is a stunner.
Margaret Qualley in Chanel
Very pretty classic ingenue style in the Deneuve mode. She never looked better.
Naomi Watts in Schiaparelli Couture
We go back and forth on whether the bottom of the skirt is a pleasant surprise of a vaguely unsettling one.
Quinta Brunson in Roberto Cavalli
Spectacular. Love that chanteuse hair.
Sharon Stone in Georges Chakra
It’s a lot of dress, we’ll give it that. The design could definitely use some edits and we don’t like the color.
Zoë Kravitz in Saint Laurent
Gorgeous.
