Kim Kardashian made an appearance on The Tonight Show for… reasons, but we’re not particularly interested in what she wore on set. It was her walking-into-the-studio look that had us intrigued, mainly because it’s notably different from her usual style preferences. Should you prepare yourself for the scrolldown? Yeah. Probably. It is Kim Kardashian, after all.
Okay, here are the surprises: Color! She’s so wedded to her usual colorless ensembles that it’s genuinely odd seeing her in a bold yellow. Second surprise: Label! While she’s no stranger to high-fashion pieces, it’s unusual to see her sporting a logo piece so prominently. Third: Pants! Although that’s not exactly shocking. Still, it’s strange to see her sporting a pair of flares. Fourth surprise: Taking someone’s sloppy seconds. Gigi Hadid wore this top just last month to the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine. No crime in choosing to wear a hot item, but she’s always been somewhat trend-averse. We wonder if all of these minor surprises represent a shift in how she’s presenting herself now that she has a full-blown acting career. Do we like any of this? Not really. It’s perhaps not surprising to see that she’s not great about coordinating colors. Those brown suedes do nothing for the yellow leather.
