Not to be alarmist or anything, but a woman walking down the street in this 40 years ago would have been picked up and taken to an institution. Not that we’re advocating the return of such punitive measures, but there’s no way to look at this and not think she looks like she’s a woman in crisis. Or at the very least, a woman fleeing a housefire. And just to cut this silliness off at the pass: we’ve been writing about fashion for nearly two decades now. We can guarantee that this does not represent some fresh new sea change in style. In twenty years, people are still going to be rolling their eyes at looks like these. Anyway, good for her. She got tons of press. She still looks like ass.
