We would think it’s a difficult needle to thread when you’re an actor promoting a Holocaust drama and you have to pose for pictures at promotional events. There was a time when people had a firmer grasp on the idea that actors are not their characters and red carpets aren’t extensions of the projects they’re promoting, but even decades ago, promoting projects like this required careful consideration regarding presentation.

For the most part, we’d say that We Were The Lucky Ones stars Joey King and Logan Lerman did just fine on that front when they stepped out for the series premiere event in LA. Which isn’t to say we love their outfits; just that they avoided looking either too grandiose or disrespectful somehow.

In other words, they mostly stuck to the tried and true for an event at this level. She, like most actresses, is more dressed up than her male co-star. It’s an intriguing look, although we think the dress would be helped by styling choices that didn’t pull focus from it, like the clutch and the shoes. The color story shouldn’t work for her, but it kinda does?

We’re not sure the silk shell really completes the look to our satisfaction, but we don’t mind this take on the oversized suit so much. He knows how to work it and it suits him. We long for the return of belts.
