Two of our least favorite red carpet denizens – her because she dresses like a nun and him because he dresses like a slob – hit this year’s Berlinale serving looks that… we don’t actually mind? Might actually be more than okay? We’re shocked too. Anyway, Spaceman co-stars Carey Mulligan and Adam Sandler came to the Berlin International Film Festival not necessarily to slay, which is good because they didn’t.

Okay, so. We don’t want you to think we’re over-praising here or anything. It’s a photo call and showing up in kicks is fine. Really. The hospital scrub pants and Hawaiian shirt, not so much.

But this is sharp and takes a good picture. Personally, we think the styling is way too low key for the outfit, but it’s not too low key for the setting.

It takes a lot to get Adam Sandler into a suit (he’s getting acclaim for his dramatic turn in this one), so we won’t get too hung up on the details. This is a maximum effort for him and he’s mostly fine.

Once again, we don’t think the styling quite matches the ensemble, but this is a genuinely interesting dress. We don’t love the design entirely. That old-bra color is not fabulous, but the draping is beautiful and eye-catching.
