Hilary Swank’s got a new movie coming out that looks pretty cheesy, but we can’t find anything bad to say about the outfit she wore to promote it.

That’s really sharp and also really cute. We love the competing plaids, which work better together than we would have thought. The bag and shoes are well chosen, but she’d have benefitted from having the pants hemmed a little. We’re not sure what the alternative should have been in our opinion, but we don’t think the hairstyle is doing anything for her or the suit. To be clear, this isn’t what she wore on camera, but she probably wore it for other press duties that day, so the somewhat businesslike styling makes more sense. It’s interesting seeing her go this route because for well over a decade after her Oscar-winning performance as trans man in Boys Don’t Cry she leaned hard into the slinkiest, sexiest, most body-con looks she could snag. It’s nice to see her style grow and loosen up a little.
