Killers of the Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone came to the Costume Designers Guild Awards. A couple things of note here: You can tell not only how seriously an Oscar nominee is taking her campaigning when she shows up at the Costume Designers Guild Awards, but also how much respect she has for the artisans behind the camera who help her create her characters and make her look good. It’s also just smart work politics to demonstrate this kind of public support. Believe us, it’s taken note of by the people in the room. Any costume designer who ever works with her again is going to go into the interaction knowing that the actress has respect for their work, which is not always the case with movie and TV stars. One other thing of note:
Killers of the Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone came to the Costume Designers Guild Awards TO FUCKING SLAY. The CDGAs practically call for a more over-the-top style of fashion. The designers themselves often show up in eye-popping looks of their own creation. Even so, we really don’t think we’d consider this too much for any other red carpet. The color looks gorgeous on her and we love the combination of opera coat and pants. The earrings are by Tlingit artisan Jennifer Younger (it’s notable that Lily is utilizing Indigenous artisans from all over the American continent) and once again, we get the distinct impression they were chosen first and the outfit was made to match them. We’re glad to see her wearing her hair back to show them off. This is the best she’s ever looked on a red carpet.
