Y’know… we’ve been waiting through seventeen years of style blogging for big hair to come back. Let’s face it: the pin straight center parted hair is beyond tired at this point. Time to ditch the flat irons and bring back the Aquanet, we say. There are two entire generations of women who haven’t yet had the pleasure of adding several inches to their height without torturing their feet. It’s time once again for Miley to lead the way. She took her hair and makeup cues from the current “Mob Wife” Tik Tok trend, but she sure didn’t stick to mafia style for her fashion choices.

Your girl had a big night with a lot of costume changes, but she couldn’t have picked a stronger arrival look. The Grammys, like all music industry awards, doesn’t necessarily trade in conventional glamour. It’s a night for showing up in nothing but safety pins. The design is actually gorgeous and reminds us of the kind of orientalist costumes you’d see on silent film sirens over a hundred years ago. As much as we enjoy the Jane Fonda hair, it really does seem like an odd choice with this ensemble. The shoes are awful.

This could not be more classic and better suited to that lion’s mane. It’s simple, shimmery and sexy. She and Mimi looked great together.

It’s Bob Mackie, which means it’s unassailable. It has a Tina Turner-crossed-with-Cher feel that suits her incredibly well.

The bag looks a little silly with it, but the dress couldn’t be better suited to the hair. Love that oxblood color.

We don’t love the dangling embellishments at the hems, but this is fantastic; as pure a throwback to the musical divas of decades past as you’ll find anywhere. We love that she has so much fun with her fashion and stagewear, but we love even more that she seems to have a real appreciation for old styles that deserve a second look.
