We interrupt all of this Grammys coverage to inform you in a breathless tone that… it has commenced. To those who care about such things, the Dune Part Two promo tour is one of the most eagerly awaited fashion events of the year. These four stars are some of the hottest and most covered presences on any red carpet at the moment. This is like an Avengers of Fashion. What this means is that they’re all going to serve looks worth a look, but they’re not always going to look good.
Timothée Chalamet in Hermès
It’s early days on the tour and we imagine that the LA and UK premieres will be where he delivers. This? Kind of meh, a little lazy. It’s fine, but it feels more like a warming up ensemble. The blouse is nice enough but the pants are dull.
Zendaya in Torishéju
Bitches better recognize and plan accordingly: Zendaya is not fucking around here, people. While this is pretty theme-y in that “I’m promoting my science fiction movie” sort of way that makes us wrinkle our noses, it’s a pretty fantastic design and she’s the right person to work it. Besides, if we have to wait for fashionistas to make sci-fi films in order to get a little avant garde action on the red carpet, who are we to complain? She looks amazing.
Austin Butler in Givenchy
If the big hair trend is coming back for the ladies, then we think he should be the guy to get the men to start reaching for the heavens. It’s his best feature. The fashion is of fine quality and boring, which is his preference. The jacket and vest are nice, but we hate how he’s wearing them.
Florence Pugh in Galvan London
She’s not prone to working the edgy stuff like Zendaya is. Since she seems to love wearing dramatically glam and sexy looks, it feels like a good idea to stick to that for this tour. Having said that, we’re not in love with this design. The mirror embellishments are too large and clunky for a jogging bra and a tight skirt.
