The Color Purple star (and newly minted BAFTA nominee) Danielle Brooks did not come quietly to Jimmy Kimmel Live. Not that we expected her to. She’s always preferred bold, colorful fashion and the fine folks at McQueen gave her just what she wanted.
But we don’t think we like it all that much. The print isn’t all that pretty and the way it’s utilized almost makes it look like she’s wearing a sweatshirt over a skirt. Even though we don’t love the print, we think the design would be improved if it extended more into the skirt. We also think it would be better if the skirt were longer. It’s just not a great idea to wear a double-slitted skirt for a sit down interview. She’s twisting around in that chair in order to avoid flashing the camera. And while we love the shoes, they really don’t go with this.
