The debt has been repaid. After hosting the Queen at the opening of her own concert film, Taylor Swift returned the favor by putting on her best (borrowed) silver dress and hitting the red carpet for the London premiere of Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour movie.
It’s as anodyne and unobjectionable a silver gown as you’ll find, but that is both the point of it and also indicative of Taylor’s own style. It’s not that she doesn’t take risks now and then, but her promo style is pretty straightforward, for the most part. Besides, it’s about Tay supporting Bey, and putting on Renaissance silver but keeping the look somewhat low on the attention-seeking scale, she’s paying respect to the hostess. Our only quibbles: Since she took the silver to her mani, we think the shoes should’ve been silver too. Also, the rosette detail on the bust is a little obscure and unphotogenic.
