Memory star Jessica Chastain wore a super-cute, quintessential “December in New York” look to stop by The View and we love it. Let’s nitpick it to death anyway.
First, are moto coats a thing that should exist? Does this one make the case for the style? Personally, we think it needs to be paired with an outfit that has a bit more of an edge to it than this one. We also would like to see it belted, because it comes off kind of shapeless the way she’s wearing it.
As we said, this is not a particularly sharp or edgy style. These look like work clothes for someone who has a nice public-facing job, like in an art gallery or managing high-end retail. We think the bag and the pumps tend to give it that feel, which is why we might have rec’d different choices for both, just to jazz this up a little. Black suede pumps with a gold design accent, maybe. As for the outfit, it feels like it should have a belt but it also looks like a belt would ruin it. A dilemma. The sweater’s gorgeous on her.
