Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe put in their best style efforts in order to stand next to their traditionally much more stylish co-star Emma Stone for the London screening of Poor Things.

Attaboys. We’re very proud of you. In fact, we think one of you might have outshone the ladystar.

Not this one. He looks great, actually. He’s got a history of being a little schlubbish and sloppy on the red carpet, but we can tell he’s really trying. We like the turtleneck for him (no, really), but we don’t like pairing it with a matching suit.

She’s one of those pale gals who loves to wear pale colors, like Saoirse Ronan or Elle Fanning. Most of the time, she winds up looking washed out, but this is so dramatically elegant that it tends to make up for the lack of contrast. The shrug/wrap/coat thing is gorgeous and it totally makes the look. Not crazy about the modesty panel, the rather heavy-looking hem or the sandals, though. We also think her hair looks a little too flat and limp.

That’s pretty damn impeccable. It’s perhaps not exciting fashion, but he looks really good in it. This feels like an Oscar campaigning look.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
From filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and producer Emma Stone comes the incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.
