Style File: THE CROWN and ALL OF US STRANGERS Star Claire Foy in New York

Claire Foy’s got an Oscar-buzzy movie coming out and a zeitgeist-buzzy final appearance in the series final of The Crown to talk about, so she put on some fine outerwear and the occasional funky-ass footwear choice to hit the streets of New York and do the promo rounds.

This is a surprisingly sedate choice for her, given how flatout odd her public style tends to be. We just got finished haranguing Sydney Sweeney for working a Barbie look in this year of our doll 2023, but we think Claire mostly avoids the Barbie-esque feeling here. It helps that she’s carrying a rather hideous bag, which Barbie would never do. Still, it’s a fine look.

Those boots are HILARIOUS. They don’t really go with the rest of the outfit at all, but we can’t help smiling when we look at them, so they have to be considered at least a partial win. The dress looks fantastic on her and the coat looks pretty nice as well. The bag remains hideous.
