Rare is the occasion when Anne Hathaway steps out in a look and we wind up announcing that we hate it, but here we are. It’s not that she never makes missteps, but for the most part, we tend to appreciate the kind of old-school bigtime Hollywood Glam she favors, even if the details don’t add up for us. But this time?
Sorry, girl. Hate it. A silver-and-white color combo can go either way, depending on the materials used; either icy glam or cheap and chintzy. There doesn’t seem to be a compromise between those two extremes. Obvious, we think this look is of the “cheap and chintzy” variety. The embellishments look a little craftsy and that hem is an absolute mess. The waist is way too high and the design of the skirt gives the impression of a towel wrapped around her waist. Love the earrings, and the shoes are fun, but the dress can be safely retired for good.
