Tracee Ellis Ross found the chunkiest sweater of all time and wore it to the New York screening of American Fiction. We almost love it.
But you lost us on the scrolldown, lady. We might’ve loved that superchunk sweater it had a normal sleeve length and it stopped around the waist. Instead, it continues for far longer than it should and it transitions into a pair of sad-looking (but no doubt hellaciously expensive) wide-legged jeans. It’s a shame, because it starts off so interesting and just keeps getting more and more problematic as you look down. Love the buttons, love the earrings, love the necklaces, even though they don’t coordinate with the rest of the look at all. Everything else can go.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
AMERICAN FICTION is Cord Jefferson’s hilarious directorial debut, which confronts our culture’s obsession with reducing people to outrageous stereotypes. Jeffrey Wright stars as Monk, a frustrated novelist who’s fed up with the establishment profiting from “Black” entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, Monk uses a pen name to write an outlandish “Black” book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.
Starring Jeffrey Wright, Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, and Sterling K. Brown.
