Because we love a good royal fashion moment, because said moments are exceedingly rare, and because CAMILLA WOULD NEVER:
Nor would Kate or Meghan, for that matter. The BRF is getting sartorially duller by the moment and we find ourselves looking with admiration at Queens Maxima and Letizia more and more often for their style choices. Generally, people like Kate and Meghan drive clicks and fashion sales, which is why everyone covers them so much more than anyone else with a European title. And to be fair, it’s not like Maxima or any other royal is dressing like this on the regular. And if we’re being honest, this wouldn’t be one of our favorite van Herpen designs. Even so, we can do nothing but bow down in respect for making the choice to wear it. Sure, she’s supporting and celebrating a Dutch designer, but this is like Kate celebrating Vivienne Westwood by wearing one of her punk shredded corset pieces. We’ll offer one critique: the royal-appropriate hair and jewelry don’t coordinate well with this.
