We won’t be so crass as to put a look up to a vote when it’s worn to a dinner commemorating Dr. King’s march on Washington, but we do think Yara Shahadi’s Ferragamo ensemble for the occasion is worth discussing – especially when one glaring detail becomes obvious.
It’s a fairly sharp and striking look, largely by virtue of that gorgeous belt, which almost serves as jewelry. We don’t think we can get behind the raw edges, which strike us as a little gimmicky. Granted, if you don’t give the design some sort of twist or edge to it, we guess it would be too generic for words. Still, it’s interesting and we can’t say she looks bad in it. We’d like it a lot more if she wasn’t standing on a skirt that should’ve been hemmed for the occasion.
