The former HBO Max has released some first-look images for the upcoming second season of Julia, the comedic bio-series based on the life of legendary TV chef and cook book author Julia Child. We had a lot of thoughts about Julia‘s first season, but we mostly settled on the opinion that it’s a worthy, entertaining homage, even if it is a bit of a fantasy hagiography. The real Child was quite a bit more prickly and problematic (not to mention bawdy and overwhelming) than Sarah Lancashire’s lovely portrayal allows, but it’s hard not to get swept up in the cast, costumes, and low-stakes drama of it all.
Glamour has all of the exclusive details of the upcoming season, including the addition of Rachel Bloom and return of Isabella Rossellini to the cast as they head off to the South of France. Season 2 of Julia premieres on Max on November 16th. You can bet that we are going to have much to say about it.
