I Like to Watch stars Trixie Mattell and Katya Zamolodchikova taped an episode of their series in which they hosted a screening of the premiere episode of season 6 of Black Mirror, “Joan is Awful,” starring Salma Hayek and Annie Murphy. Did you get all that? Here. We’ll let the Netflix press release explain:
Netflix and I Like To Watch hosted a special screening of Joan Is Awful, the opening episode of the new upcoming Black Mirror Season 6, at The Paris Theater in New York City.
The screening was followed by a first time ever live audience taping of I Like To Watch with hosts Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova. The beloved digital series originally launched in 2019 with MOST, Netflix’s home of LGBTQ+ storytelling (Instagram, Twitter).
After the screening, the stars of Joan Is Awful, Annie Murphy and Salma Hayek Pinault, surprised the audience by playfully introducing themselves as Trixie & Katya. The cheeky play on the premise of the episode received a huge reaction from the audience, who roared with enthusiasm when the lights turned up and revealed the duo on stage in Trixie Mattel & Katya’s iconic split pink and red couch.
Murphy and Hayek Pinault thanked the audience for the incredible reception of the episode and introduced the hosts of the popular digital series, who took the couch with them to dish on their roles in the episode. As the evening progressed, the drag duo hilariously reacted to highlights from the new episode during the live taping and reflected on some of the most absurd scenarios and relatable scenes from Joan is Awful.
That’s all well and good, but we’re here to be bitches about the clothes.
Aw, we can’t be bitches. It looks like it was a lot of fun. We’ll be bitches about one thing: Salma’s shoes. They deserve it.
