The stars and honorees came out for The Hollywood Reporter‘s “Raising Our Voices” event and the fashion was surprisingly adventurous in a few cases. Let’s judge.
Eva Longoria in Elie Saab
A leather dress seems a little heavy for summer, but the flower details are dramatically appealing.
Jessica Betts and Niecy Nash Betts
As always, they look great together. Niecey’s fit and shapewear games are as masterful as ever, but we don’t like the way the design looks like it restricts her movements.
Quinta Brunson in Ports 1961
We keep seeing this shade of blue lately and we have yet to fall in love with it. It’s great to see her getting a little edgy with her style choices. We like this on her a lot more than we expected to, and we think that has to do with the styling, which really pulls it together. We just wish the jacket and shirt weren’t pulling in every direction.
Sharon Stone in Dolce & Gabbana
We can’t say she looks bad, but we don’t really love this. The giant flower feels dated and we don’t think the blouse and suit coordinate well.
Taika Waititi
He has a distinct ability to pull off the oddest looks. This just suits him, inexplicably. We think it would look terrible and mismatched on almost anyone else.
