The star of the hottest movie of Summer 2023 (so far) got pretty stylish for the BET Awards. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse star Shameik Moore arrived on the red carpet working a pretty fresh take on formal menswear.

To be fair, formal shorts aren’t anything new. It’s not even the first time we’ve seen that particular pleated skirt/formal short hybrid. If we’re being honest, we don’t love the half-skirt and we tend to get huffy about unbuttoned cuffs flapping in the breeze, but there’s something about the whole look that just feels right and comes off pretty chic. Maybe it’s the pearls. Or the shades. Or the hair. Then again, maybe it doesn’t need to be dissected at all. It’s just a cool look that suits him really well. He looks great.
