You know what, Jake Gyllenhaal, star of The Covenant? We’re gonna give you this one. Maybe it’s the way you’re sitting or maybe we just appreciate an unsloppy look, but after a long period of expressing our disappointment with your style efforts, we’re admitting that this outfit, low-key as it is, works pretty well.
He really doesn’t need to be sitting like that. The color story is perhaps a little too subtle for television, but we appreciate how well the green and beige work together. Folks tend to reflexively dismiss the pleated pant, but when it’s cut well and on the right person (which is a somewhat small pool of the population, to be sure), it can look pretty great. The belt, watch and shoes are all well-chosen/coordinated. It’s stylish in a somewhat basic sort of way but we’ll take it.
