Bill and Cathy got themselves all gussied up for the BAFTAs! And Cathy did it on the cheap this time!

The monarchy can’t be seen as too frivolous or extravagant at the moment, largely because it’s about to unleash more extravagance than the public has ever seen when Charles finally gets his coronation. The thing is, those earrings actually look cheap. We think there are plenty of jewelry options in that price range that would work for a gown like this, but these? These aren’t it, Cathy. The other big story here is the deployment of the oh-so-trendy black opera glove, which is not an element she tends to utilize often, if at all. If she’d wanted to go really trendy, she’d have sported a leather pair, but that would have been entirely too much edge for our Cathy. We’re a little tired of the opera glove trend, but it looks a little fresh, coming from her. Our only quibble with them is that they’re too long. Love the peek of gold at her hem. He’s doing alright. It’s nice to see him working his father’s long-favored double-breasted jacket. It suits him well. He might want to consider making them a regular part of his wardrobe. It would be a great way for him to signal his role as the heir apparent.
