EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE Star Michelle Yeoh in Erdem at the National Board of Review Awards

After going a little wild at the Palm Springs Film Awards last week, Everything Everywhere All At Once star Michelle Yeoh dialed things back considerably for the National Board of Review Gala, which only serves to confirm our earlier point that you just can’t predict which way her awards campaigning style is going to go. Having said that, we’re afraid we’re not as in love with this one.

We hate to be dogmatic about such things, but we’re pretty sure it’s an offense against nature to wear a black bra under a white eyelet top. Granted, you can barely notice it because of what’s going on around her waist. We don’t think a ruffled peplum with a bow attached is going to work in most instances, but when you combine it with a high waist, it just looks odd. To be fair, going by the runway shot, it looks like changes were made to the bodice, which originally had a sheer midriff with boning like a foundation garment or corset. We’re not sure the original design works all that well, but it doesn’t look quite so awkward as Michelle’s version, which puts all of the emphasis on the wrong parts of the design.
