A couple of years back, just before the current wave of Dianamania started, a bunch of fashion prognosticators predicted that the former Princess of Wales’ signature style was about to become trendy again. At the time, we thought that sounded right (it was), but we remember thinking “There’s no way in hell those piecrust collars will be coming back.” And yet, here we are. It’s not a design element that truly appeals to us, mostly because we find fussy fashion visually annoying. We’ll admit that Lizzy is really pulling this one off with the help of a great suit and some chic styling. Love the jewelry. We don’t think the blouse would be improved if it was opaque (it would probably look a lot dowdier), but the combination of prim collar and exposed bra is an odd one.
