VARIETY’s 2022 Power of Young Hollywood Celebration Red Carpet Rundown

Posted on August 12, 2022

Let’s judge the youngs! We gave cover boy Angus Cloud the spotlight treatment, bit it’s not like the rest of the youth showed up to Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood party in boring fashion.

Auli’i Cravalho

The suit is nice enough, but that bra top is terrible.

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham in Fendi

He cracks us up. We’re sorry, but he’s such a tryhard and what makes it so funny to us is that no one can tell what it is he’s trying so hard to be. Anyway his outfit is nothing and hers is hilariously awful.

Chandler Kinney

Can’t argue with that.

Chloe Cherry in Moschino

Super fun and cute.

Coco Jones in Marcell Von Berlin

We don’t love when an entire ensemble is all one print, but we think this might’ve lost a lot of impact if she’d worn a solid jacket over it. She’s making it work through the power of poise and personality.

Dara Reneé

LOVELOVELOVE it all. Until we get to the shoes.

Halle Bailey in August Getty Atelier

Looks like someone wanted to show up all grown up. This is as classic as a gown gets and she looks great.

Iann Dior in Dsquared2

Love this whole look, from the hair to the mani to the cartoon feet.

Jabari Banks

We don’t know. We’re all for interpreting a classic tux, but we fail to see what that band does for it.

Javon Walton

YES. Whenever we complain that teen stars are dressing too precocious or sophisticated for their age, it’s because we desperately want to see them wearing things like this. Teen stars, we won’t lie to to you. You will regret wearing this in ten years. But you’ll be so glad you did in thirty years.

Joshua Bassett in Saint Laurent

Chic and fabulous with a slight not to mod. It all goes so well with his hair.

Samantha Hanratty in Rani Zakhem

It looks way more appropriate for someone 40 years older than her.

Saniyya Sidney in Kate Spade

The dress is very cute but we’re sorry, honey. Your accessories don’t go.
