Ashanti stopped by the GMA studios to promote her new children’s book “My Name Is a Story” and sing a song or two. Of course she had outfits for both and we kinda love how she subtly kept each of them appropriate to her
IN DOLCE & GABBANA
This is her “children’s book author” look. It’s still sexy and bold in the Ashanti mode, but it’s also bright, fun, and sweet. We can’t tell if this is a romper or separates, but the shorts aren’t fitting as well as they should. It looks better when she’s sitting in the studio.
IN BALMAIN
And this is clearly her “chanteuse” look. It’s smooth and sexy but not overdone for morning TV (as opposed to her microphone, which is hilariously overdone). The color looks great on her. She’s clearly a gal who loves a branded belt, but like her D&G look, the fit is off here. This would look so much better if it wasn’t pulling across the chest like that. If anything, a short blazer dress like this tends to work best when it’s slightly oversized.
