15 Most Beautiful Italian Islands, From World-famous Isles to Lesser-known Gems
Italy’s islands have a unique blend of history, nature, food, and culture—and at least one is calling your name.
Whether close to shore or way, way out of sight from the mainland, the best Italian islands share a few traits: an almost unfair allotment of natural beauty, endlessly fascinating history and culture, pilgrimage-worthy food—and, of course, a million shades of blue for a backdrop. Still, each destination has its own unique draws. From glamorous hot spots like Capri and Sardinia to under-the-radar gems, read on for our rundown of the most beautiful islands in Italy.
How to Restore a Wooden Cutting Board to Like-New Condition
Bring that board back to life.
Wooden cutting boards are one of the most versatile workhorses in the kitchen. After all, almost every recipe requires some form of chopping, slicing, or dicing. But over time, knife marks, stinky food odors, and a dry surface can render your wooden cutting board unusable.
Fortunately, with the right steps, you can likely get your cutting board back into working order. We chatted with two experts who shared their step-by-step tips for restoring and maintaining your wooden cutting board so it stays functional (and hydrated).
The Clavi Cut Is the Most Flattering Way to Navigate that Tricky Grow-Out Stage
TikTok’s chicest in-between hair hack
If you’re caught between a bob and longer lengths, the collarbone-skimming ‘clavi cut’ makes that in-between phase feel entirely deliberate. Skimming the collarbone (or clavicle), it’s become the go-to look for that cool-but-undone finish flooding TikTok—and on the red carpet, too. From Kim Kardashian’s almost-grunge take and Kirsten Dunst’s softer, vintage version to Victoria Beckham’s laissez-faire styling, this cut proves that mid-length hair doesn’t have to feel like a compromise.
How Locals Really Feel About The White Lotus Coming to Town in St. Tropez
After successful outings in the likes of Sicily and Thailand, the smash-hit series is headed for France’s glitziest coastline—but how do locals feel about such a strong spotlight?
March may be the cruelest month in St. Tropez. Though the world imagines this Riviera village as a non-stop hedonistic playground for the wealthy, the enduring myth of Bardot-era glamour has little to do with the daily life of its roughly 4,000 permanent residents.
Having lived on the Côte d’Azur for decades, I’ve learned to appreciate St. Tropez’s off-season moods. Today the sun is pale, the sky milky, and there’s a lingering winter chill in the air. Streets lie nearly empty, boutiques remain shuttered. A brisk wind whips across the yacht-less harbor.
On the Place des Lices, not a single pétanque player is in sight. A pewter-haired gentleman pedals past on a rickety bicycle. A few designer boutiques have their lights on; outside one, a bored shopkeeper slips out for a cigarette while waiting for customers.
Natural Beauty Has Had A Rebrand And It’s About To Transform Your Routine
No longer just about gentle and ‘clean’, the natural beauty sector is stepping into a new era
Once upon a time, natural beauty was ultimately defined by what it left out. Parabens, silicones, sulphates—entire routines were built around avoidance, rather than performance.
For those seeking a particular lifestyle like veganism, side-stepping certain ingredients made sense and was a testament to an industry trying to be as inclusive as possible.
But for a long time, the ‘clean beauty’ and ‘free-from’ movements were—at their worst—defined more by fearmongering about ‘stuff that might harm you’, than a focus on what really works. The question remained: could ‘cleaner’ or more eco-conscious beauty provide better results for your skin?
Royal Biographer Says Queen Elizabeth’s Fashion Was “Questionable” Until This Key Royal Figure Died, Allowing Her to “Blossom”
A new book about the late Queen claims that her “frumpy” style was revolutionized in the early 2000s.
Queen Elizabeth was known for her rainbow-colored coats and creative hats in her later decades, but in the ‘90s and early 2000s, her style was a bit more “frumpy,” according to royal biographer Hugo Vickers. In his new biography of the late Queen, which is serialized in the Daily Mail this week, Vickers wrote that Queen Elizabeth “seemed determined to look like a pensioner” once she turned 65—but when a key royal figure died, her wardrobe shifted.
Writing that the late Queen started “sporting a frumpy-looking hairstyle” in the ‘90s, Vickers said that he felt Queen Elizabeth’s “fashion choices were questionable.”
The Barn Jacket Has Gone From Trending to Timeless—These 12 Styles Are Editor-Approved
A seasonal classic
The search for wardrobe staples that are both practical and polished shows no sign of slowing down. Trainers, once confined to the gym, are now a much-loved luxury. Though barn jackets were a stand-out spring jacket style last season, they continue to be a capsule wardrobe staple, valued for both for its timeless appeal and functionality.

7 best blow-dry brushes I’ve tested with my colleagues
Your bounciest ‘do yet.
It’s thanks to blow-dry brushes and blow-dry brushes only that I do my hair well. Hand me a hair dryer and pair of straighteners and my hair will look pass-able at best. But pass me a hot air brush, and I can deliver a bouncy, salon-worthy blow-dry that lasts all day. With ease, may I add. The humble blow-dry brush has skyrocketed in popularity not just because of the results they can deliver – but how quick it is to achieve them.
“It’s basically a round brush and a hairdryer had a baby,” Sophia Hilton, founder of Not Another Salon told me. “Honestly, it’s a game-changer for people who struggle with the old-school brush-in one hand, dryer in the other method.”
Inside Queen Mary of Teck’s dazzling tiara collection: from gems loved by Princess Anne to a piece gifted by Queen Victoria
On the anniversary of her funeral, rediscover the majesty of three of Queen Mary of Teck’s most dazzling diamond tiaras
A formidable character who became the matriarch of the Royal Family, Princess Victoria Mary of Teck was born at Kensington Palace on 26 May 1867 in the same room where Queen Victoria (who was a distant cousin) had been born 40 years prior.
In 1891, aged 24, Mary was betrothed to her second cousin once removed, Prince Albert, eldest son of the then Prince of Wales (future King Edward VII). However, six weeks after the announcement of the engagement, Prince Albert died unexpectedly during an influenza pandemic. The following year, Mary became engaged to his only surviving brother, Prince George (future King George V), marrying him in 1893. When he became Prince of Wales in 1901, she became Princess of Wales.
How to nail perfect beach waves for spring with minimal effort
Which means more time for mojitos…
After months and months of grey skies, the sun is finally starting to peak through — and it’s got all of us in a seriously beach-y moon. In the mood for holiday-inspired hair? Say hello to laidback-looking beach waves, which continue to be one of the most sought-after hair styles come summer.
Whether sprinkled with salt from the sea (or your favourite salt spray) and styled minimally to add to the air of nonchalance, beach waves are the off-duty equivalent to no-makeup-makeup. Like no makeup-makeup though, often the most “effortless” looking styles take the most work to create.
The good news is that beach waves can be fairly easy to create, it just depends on how glossy vs undone you want it to look.

The Slinky, Sexy 90s Cocktail Dress Loved By Carrie Bradshaw Is Back. The 9 Best To Shop Now
A welcome return to grown-up feminine sensuality courtesy of this trending dress style.
Is it time to finally say goodbye to the puff-sleeved frocks that have dominated dress trends over the last few years? We’re saying yes.
Whether for a wedding, work, or off-duty Saturday errand runs, the easy-to-wear balloon-sleeve style, often with a smocked upper, became a go-to staple in the dress arena. Understandably, it’s a universally flattering shape that transitions through the seasons well. But, like all good things, the reign must come to an end, making way for its replacement: the fabulous, flirty cocktail dress that was a staple in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Move Over Pastels, This Soft Grey-Blue Manicure Is Taking Over For Spring
This denim-inspired tone is more muted and subtle than the saccharine shades of seasons past.
It’s no secret that colour trends transcend from runways down to our beauty routines – just look at the impact of chocolate brown, burgundy and, more recently, pastels over the past few months. But the latest trend doesn’t appear to draw inspiration from new collections, but rather an interior-leaning colour palette.
It’s a shade I’ve had my eye on for months in the midst of a renovation: a soft grey-blue hue that’s been dominating my algorithm, from colour-drenched blue bedrooms to aesthetically-pleasing kitchens, pairing the grounding shade with dark marble and brass finishings.

How To Repurpose Your Unworn Gold Jewellery Into Something New
What to do when a piece of jewellery has all the hallmarks, but none of the style? Repurpose, is one answer. In jewellery workshops across London, designers are busy re-setting stones and recycling golds, melting and recasting the precious metal into new pieces that will actually be worn. Demand for this service is rising.
Thomas Doherty and Grace Van Patten on Vampires, Threesomes, and Hollywood Dreams
Most of us first encountered Thomas Doherty on the Gossip Girl reboot, where he played Max Wolfe with the kind of camera-ready confidence that makes you assume he was raised on set. He wasn’t. The Edinburgh-born actor came up through musical theater before moving to L.A. and learning the ropes of on-camera acting. If Gossip Girl was part of that education, Doherty’s new role in season two of the post-apocalyptic hit Paradise feels like a graduation. The 31 year-old actor is back in New York now, where he just finished a run in Little Shop of Horrors on stage, and where he’s talking to his friend and former Tell Me Lies costar Grace Van Patten about what it feels like when you’ve finally arrived.
‘Project Hail Mary’ Cinematographer Greig Fraser on How He Created the Sun Effect to Light the Tunnel Scene
Cinematographer Greig Fraser counts “The Batman,” “Dune” and “Rogue One” among his credits. But his latest film, “Project Hail Mary,” is what he calls his “most challenging film I’ve ever done, by far.”
“Project Hail Mary” is based on Andy Weir’s book of the same name and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Ryan Gosling stars as Ryland Grace, a science teacher and former molecular biologist who is recruited by the government to help save the Earth from dying. Ryland then unwittingly finds himself on an interstellar mission that includes meeting an alien, Rocky.
Yes, You Should Be Cleaning Your Toilet Brush—Here’s How
Don’t forget this hygiene essential.
It’s one of the most practical, essential cleaning tools in your home—and one of the easiest to overlook. The toilet brush does the necessary work of keeping your bathroom fresh, but without proper care, it can quickly become a source of bacteria, odors, and buildup itself. The good news? Keeping a toilet brush clean doesn’t require much time or effort; just a few consistent habits and the right approach.
