The ladies of The Testaments came out in surprisingly high style for the series premiere.

As she established repeatedly throughout awards season, the girl loves herself a big skirt. This is dramatic and she’s well suited to it, but it’s a corset over a tutu and that doesn’t make for a particularly interesting design. This look would have so much more impact if the skirt were black.

She’s taking her moment and we love that for her. She’s not normally this glam on a red carpet, but there’s certainly nothing wrong with stepping up your game. Love the color story, especially the choice to pair that bag with the dress. We think she’s not entirely comfortable with how it’s fitting in the bodice, but the overall look is elegant and glam.

We’re not in love with this. We appreciate the large-scale print, because you don’t see them much on formal red carpets, but the textile looks so chintzy and the color story is rather drab. The design is fine, but it’s not interesting enough to overcome those issues. The earrings are gorgeous and her makeup is pretty.
