Super Mario Galaxy Movie star Anya Taylor-Joy continues to do the heavy lifting on the promo tour. She took time out from making the press rounds in Tokyo to helpfully pose in a lovely setting to show off her Givenchy ensemble. We are happy to report that she’s gotten away from the Princess Peach-themed outfits.

That is stunningly gorgeous, but it’s also strange in a way that we kind of hate. We’re still not the biggest fans of black-backed florals, but the scale is dramatically large and the embroidery is beautiful. Had she just stuck with the dress, we’d be raving right now, even though we tend to hate minis with massive trains or flounces on them. No, the weird thing that we hate are the boots. She is not, in fact, wearing pants here. She’s wearing these silly-ass boot-pant thigh-high hybrids and we loathe them. If you want to wear pants, just wear pants! You need to show off that little patch of thigh skin so badly? Honestly, a more standard pair of black leather thigh-highs would’ve been fine, but these slouchy, matchy things just look dumb to us.
