Apparently, Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach threw out the “Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue” style directive for her promo tour for The Drama. Going by her outfit at Good Morning America this morning, they’ve moved on to “something a little crazy.”

Don’t hate us but we kind of love it. We’re of the school of thought that celebrity promotional work goes better if you give people something to look at. It’s why we tend to rail against neutrals or monochromatic looks or trend-following. If you offer up a completely forgettable visual, people are likely to forget about you as soon as you’re out of their line of sight. So yes, this is nutty, and no, we don’t see many uses for it in the so-called real world, but it’s cute, it’s fun, it’s a little sexy, and she’s about the best possible person to wear it. It’s giving “chic chicken” and we can’t get mad at that. The only critique we have is that we don’t think the black panels in the jacket do anything good for it.
