Duchess Kate put on her biggest dangly earrings and a crisp white suit to attend the unveiling of the national Windrush monument, to commemorate the Afro-Carribean immigrants who arrived in England on the Empire Windrush ship in 1948, to help rebuild the country after the war.
That is an awful lot of white for a day event, but we’ll give her credit for pulling it off and making it look effortlessly immaculate. Granted, it’s not like she hopped on the Tube to get there, but still. We would not have rec’d white shoes or a white shell to go with that suit, but we aren’t as afraid of color as some of the younger members of the royal family seem to be. The earrings, by Black-owned UK brand Chalk, really are quite stunning.
