We gave the royal attendees of last night’s Top Gun: Maverick UK premiere their own spotlight post for obvious reasons, but the cast really outdid themselves on the style front and it’s time to recognize.

He’s Tom Cruise. What else do you need? We wouldn’t say he’s always above reproach, but this whole tour (including winning the Palmes d’Or at Cannes) is all about the industry celebrating one of its biggest stars at a time when it needs star power to sustain itself. He’s been on a victory lap of sorts and he looks pretty great, if not exactly super-stylish.

It’s been eye-opening watching her during this promo tour. Not only does she know when to tamp down on her usual cray style preferences, but when she does, she executes some seriously chic and stylish red carpet looks. It’s like she wants to be edgy all the time, but if you ask her to default to pretty, she lands on stunning without any effort. She knows how to look like a movie star. She just chooses a different way most of the time. Anyway, this is perfect. No notes.

Shiny and sharp.

He can handle the double-breasted cut really well but his pants need hemming.

He looks great, but we’re not loving this trend for velvet or suede dress shoes lately. He needed some shine down there.

Love the jacket, hate the full cut of the pants with it.

This suits him really well – he’s a dude who can handle a string tie – but we’d have liked a nicer or showier pair of boots and he needs an undershirt.

We should be very angry about the idea of a turtleneck being paired with a tuxedo, but damn if he isn’t making it work.

It’s The Hamm. We can’t complain, although The Hamm also needs an undershirt.
